the scheme will break without these:
1. Treating the canyon as a focal point, maintaining a natural ecosystem, nurturing a micro-climate, using it to generate an adaptive comfort model for building users, and allowing access to the canyon as a city-level recreation resource
2. Sharing health, leisure and convenience facilities with members of the local community, and placing these shared facilities in what we predict to be the busiest part of site
3. Sharing informal teaching resources such as workshops, and other facilities such as display areas, conference or lecture facilities fully with anyone interested in built environment studies, through e.g. outreach programmes; allowing such users to, as a minimum, have a visible link with other parts of the academic programme
4. Studio spaces removed vertically from more public areas of scheme, but all studios linked in a continuous path, to maximise interdepartmental interaction
5. An open source model of development is to be used...
